Sheridan Story Volunteers Needed
School is about to start, so…
We are looking for folks to help deliver the weekend food to our families at Waite Park School through the Sheridan Story.
We share Waite Park School with Mt. Carmel, so our duty is only every other month. It is only about a 90-minute commitment on Friday afternoons. You are given a list of locker numbers, and the groceries are already packed. Our volunteers put the packed bag into the student’s backpack.
In September we need two volunteers on the 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th of the month. Please let me know what week(s) you are available to help! – Nancy Johnson (612-886-3213)

Workshops for Those Who Want to Age Boldly!
Dr. Steve Arnold, a resident of St. Anthony Village for the past 5 years (and a member of our congregation), is presenting a series of four monthly workshops at the Benedictine Center in Maplewood called “The Life Journey: Aging with Dignity.” Sessions will be held on Tuesdays, starting September 5, from 7 to 9 p.m. Remaining sessions are on October 3, November 7, and December 5. The cost for all four sessions is $80.
“Participants will examine misperceptions about aging and focus on aging as a gift of God,” explains Sam Rahberg, director of the Center. Sessions will include presentations on issues of aging, reflections, contemplative prayer and conversations based on questions that come up, such as ‘Who am I as my roles change?’ or “Where is God in the aging process?
The goal of this series, he says, is to help participants explore the aging process, accommodate its changes with grace, and build a life that has purpose and depth. For more information, call 651-777-7251 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org. The Benedictine Center is a ministry of the Benedictine Sisters of St. Paul’s Monastery in Maplewood, located at 2675 Benet Road. When registering, if you identify yourself as a member of GA Church, you will receive a $20 discount on the registration fee!
